Just Getting Started.
Before you begin the home-buying process, it helps to gather some basic information upfront that you’ll need to provide to Realtors and Lenders once the process gets underway. Use this checklist to save you some time. While you may need to provide other information, this is will give you a good head start.
1. Personal information.
- A government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license or military ID
- Current residence and addresses for the past 2 years
- Years of education completed
2. Employment.
- Contact information and dates of employment for the last 2 years
- Recent pay stubs
- 2 years of W2 tax forms
3. Other income.
- 2 months of bank statements
- 2 months of investment or retirement account statements
4. Outstanding debt.
- This includes items like credit cards, student loans, car loans, etc.
- Your credit report will also be pulled, so it’s a good idea to have documentation for any mishaps or outdated information
